Physical Therapy
Physiotherapy is a health care profession which provides services to individuals in order to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout life. This includes providing services in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by aging, injury, disease or environmental factors.
Sports Medicine
Sports medicine, also known as sport and exercise medicine (SEM), is a branch of medicine that deals with physical fitness and thetreatment and prevention of injuries related to sports and exercise. As such, sports medicine is an area of medical practice concerned with the treatment of injuries resulting from athletic activities. A physician practicing sports medicine focuses on sports-related medical services.
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic today is one of the largest primary-contact health care professions in Canada with over 6,500 practicing chiropractors. Approximately four and a half million Canadians use the services of a chiropractor each year.
Massage Therapy
A look at our environment can provide many of the answers. Each day we are faced with many physical challenges – as office workers holding arms over a keyboard, as construction workers hammering repeatedly, or as bus drivers sitting for long periods with insufficient support.
Prosthetics & Orthotics
Bracing is generally considered a conservative treatment option which may enhance your return to activity. Not just for injured athletes, custom bracing can provide a level of protection not found in their sport without using the athlete employing personal custom bracing. We have selected premium quality custom products from companies like CTi, Össur, Donjoy (DJO), Bauerfiend & Thuasne Townsend.
Accupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of solid filiform acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. No drug is injected. The needles alone create the beneficial effects of acupuncture.
Intramuscular Stimulation
IMS is an affective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin – involvement of the spine. IMS has few side effects and the technique is also unequaled for finding and diagnosing muscle shortening in deep muscles.
Dry Needling
Functional Dry Needling, is a form of IMS. It brings lasting relief for a broad range of neuromuscular dysfunction.
Following injuries or other degenerative processes, many patients suffer from muscular tightness and spasm. This often leads to compression and irritation of the nerves exiting the spine. When these nerves are irritated, they cause a protective spasm of all the muscles to which they are connected. This is a natural response from the body attempting to protect itself, frequently results in referral pain.
