ACL Injury Prevention Series 1 out of 8

How to Prevent ACL Injury – Video Course #1

Hey, It is Dr. Shawn Rennick from Action Sports Clinic and we are coming to you today with some ACL tips for someone who wants to prevent getting an ACL injury.

So today we are going to look at a few exercises for prevention and strengthening.

I have Sofia here, she works with at the clinic here with us and so today we are going to start off with the first exercise which is just to get your quad to contract.

Quad Contractions…

So, with Sofia sitting in this position here, all she is going to do is contract her quad with her leg straight so her knee is staying straight and she is going to contract her quad and hold it for 5 seconds.

Now normally what we do is we recommend that you do this 5-10 times.

If it is going well and you don’t have any problems then you can move ahead and maybe do a 10 second contraction and do that as many as 30 times.

So in this series we are going to keep addressing ACL preventative excercises. If you have had an ACL injury and you are going into surgery or you want to prevent getting an ACL injury these are some exercises you can do to help strengthen your legs.
