Shockwave Therapy
A non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves to kickstart healing in stubborn tendon and soft tissue injuries.
Shockwave therapy delivers focused acoustic pressure waves into injured tissue, stimulating blood flow and triggering the body's natural healing response. It's a well-researched, non-invasive option for chronic tendon and soft tissue conditions — particularly cases that have plateaued with other treatments.
Our Approach
We use radial shockwave therapy as part of a broader treatment plan, not as a standalone fix. After confirming shockwave is appropriate for your condition, we apply it directly to the affected tissue over a short course of sessions, combined with manual therapy and a loading exercise program to support tissue healing and rebuild capacity.
Conditions We Treat
Plantar Fasciitis
One of the most common — and most responsive — conditions treated with shockwave therapy.
Achilles Tendinopathy
For chronic Achilles pain that hasn't improved with rest, stretching, or strengthening alone.
Tennis & Golfer's Elbow
Targeting the tendon attachments at the elbow for lasting relief from chronic overuse pain.
Patellar Tendinopathy (Jumper's Knee)
Common in running and jumping athletes — shockwave helps stimulate healing in the patellar tendon.
Calcific Shoulder Tendinitis
Helps break down calcium deposits and reduce pain and stiffness in the rotator cuff.
Hip & Greater Trochanteric Pain
For chronic lateral hip pain related to tendon irritation around the hip.
What to Expect From Your Shockwave Session
Assessment & Diagnosis — We confirm shockwave therapy is the right fit for your condition and explain what to expect.
Treatment Area Preparation — The treatment area is identified and a conductive gel applied, similar to an ultrasound.
Shockwave Application — Pressure waves are delivered to the affected tissue — most people describe it as an intense tapping sensation.
Post-Treatment Sensations — Mild soreness or redness afterward is normal and typically settles within a day.
Treatment Course — Most conditions respond best to a short series of weekly sessions, with progress reviewed along the way.
