Running Assessments
A full biomechanical breakdown of your running form to improve performance and reduce your risk of injury.
Most running injuries come down to how your body moves — not just how far or how often you run. A running assessment combines video gait analysis with a hands-on movement and strength screen to identify the factors contributing to pain, inefficiency, or recurring injury, and to build a plan to address them.
Our Approach
We record and analyze your running gait from multiple angles, then combine that with a strength and mobility screen to build a complete picture. From there, we make specific recommendations — whether that's a targeted strength program, gait retraining cues, footwear or orthotic considerations, or a referral for treatment of an existing injury.
Who Benefits From a Running Assessment
Recurring Running Injuries
For runners stuck in a cycle of injury, recovery, and re-injury — identifying and addressing the root cause.
Shin Splints
Assessing loading patterns and mechanics that contribute to shin pain.
IT Band Syndrome
Identifying hip and movement factors that contribute to lateral knee pain.
Runner's Knee
Evaluating knee tracking and lower limb mechanics during running.
Achilles & Calf Pain
Assessing loading rate and ankle mechanics that may be contributing to Achilles or calf issues.
Performance Goals
For runners simply looking to run more efficiently and reduce their injury risk going forward.
What to Expect From Your Running Assessment
Intake & Goal Setting — A discussion of your running history, current training, injury history, and goals.
Video Gait Analysis — Your running form is recorded and analyzed frame-by-frame from multiple angles.
Strength & Mobility Screen — A hands-on assessment of strength, flexibility, and movement patterns relevant to running.
Personalized Recommendations — A clear breakdown of findings with specific, actionable recommendations.
Follow-Up & Re-Assessment — Optional follow-up to track changes in your mechanics as you implement the recommendations.
